This Privacy Policy explains how GenDash handles information in the app and on the GenDash website.
1. What GenDash Collects and Processes #
GenDash is designed to process your generator information locally on your iPhone. GenDash does not collect or store your generator profiles, fuel or battery levels, run history, maintenance records, Home Assistant telemetry, or other app data on GenDash-operated servers. GenDash does not require an account.
2. Local Storage, Backups, and Connected Services #
The app stores your generator profiles, fuel and battery levels, run history, maintenance records, and settings locally on your device.
If you export a backup, the resulting file may contain your generator profiles, run history, maintenance records, and Home Assistant connection settings. Backup files are managed by you and may remain in the location where you save or share them.
If you enable Automatic Mode under the app’s Location, Weather & Environment settings, GenDash uses your device location to determine environmental information and request weather data from Open-Meteo. GenDash does not receive or store your location on its own servers. You can deny location access and enter environmental values manually.
If you connect a Home Assistant server, GenDash sends telemetry to the instance you configured. That server may be on your local network or available through a remote URL. GenDash does not operate or control that server; its handling of the data is governed by your Home Assistant setup.
The website is separate from the app. If you use the contact form, the name, email address, and message you submit are sent to the support service used to process that form. Do not include sensitive information in a support message.
3. In-App Purchases #
All transactions are processed through Apple’s App Store. We do not have access to your credit card information, bank details, or billing address.
4. Third-Party Services #
The App does not use any third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising services.
5. Your Rights #
Since no data is collected by the developer, you have total control over your information. Deleting the App will permanently delete all local data associated with it.
